Space Descent with Tim Peake

Design of VR double-decker space bus,
inspiring the next generation about a future in science.

How do you inspire the next generation of kids to study science? On a mission to spark curiosity, Cheil teamed up with Samsung and the Science Museum to bring the wonders and excitement of space closer to school kids all around the country.

A travelling VR double-decker bus turned replica of the International Space Station, allowed students to experience Tim Peake’s journey back to earth, and get inspired about a future in science like never before.

I was responsible for the design of the external bus including a bespoke illustration showing Tim Peake’s journey, as well as the campaign logo lockup applied across all branded material. I’ve created intrinsic design details such as space mission badges, signage and labelling for the interior of the bus to elevate authenticity.

With more than 60 school visits the bus inspired more than 50k students and had 1 million visits to the Science Museum.
